Gaib is a short documentary essay film made in collaboration with Yoga Abdul Ghani and the community of Batu Karas, West Java.

Made in the shadow of a village reconstructed after the West Java tsunami of 17 July 2006, the film draws on the rituals of Yoga’s daily life to explore the presence of spirituality, death, and time in his life.

From Arabic غَيْب (ḡayb) "that which is unseen, yet to be seen; mysterious; hidden, invisible; belonging to the supernatural".
